PERFECT HOLTA
Grand Prix ace Rune Holta rattled off a 15-point maximum as Dackarna were one of three teams to scale the 60-point barrier in Tuesday night’s Swedish Elitserien programme.
Holta, currently in fifth place in the World Championship, helped table-topping Dackarna to a crushing 62-34 home win over second-placed Piraterna, with Andreas Jonsson also weighing in with paid 13.
The Malilla side are now unbeaten in 10 meetings this season, and have a seven-point lead at the head of the table.
Greg Hancock mustered just one point from his first three rides for the understrength Pirates, but then claimed a second and a first to finish with six (paid seven).
Elit Vetlanda were the night’s most impressive winners, storming to a 64-32 away win over Indianerna at Kumla to jump into second spot in the table behind Dackarna.
Once again Pole Janusz Kolodziej was in inspired form with a 15-point maximum, and he received excellent back-up from Jaroslaw Hampel, Lee Richardson and Jason Crump, all of whom posted paid 14 scores.
Lejonen bettered Elit Veltanda’s total in putting visiting Vargarna to the sword at Gislaved – they were resounding 65-31 winners.
Former Grand Prix rider Mikael Max rolled back the years for a 12-point maximum while Aussie GP new boy Chris Holder continued his impressive comeback from injury with 12 from five rides. Adrian Miedzinski (15) scored nearly half of Vargarna’s 31 points.
Vastervik also won away when they secured a 52-44 verdict over struggling Valsarna at Hagfors.
Grand Prix leader Tomasz Gollob dropped a point to Daniel Nermark in Heat 8 as Valsarna edged ahead for the second time on the night.
But Vastervik, with Chris Harris in fine form, stormed back with decisive 5-1s in Heats 9, 12 and 14, the British Champion featuring in the latter two.
Harris finished with paid 13 and Gollob 11 from four completed rides.
