ZMARZLIK LEADS U21 CHARGE
Thursday 12th April 2012, 11:17
Gorzow pocket rocket Bartosz Zmarzlik stormed to victory in Poland’s World Under-21 Championship qualifier at Tarnow on Wednesday.
Zmarzlik bagged 12 points to tie with Leszno brothers Piotr and Przemyslaw Pawlicki, who also qualify for the international rounds. But Zmarzlik’s four race wins saw him top the rostrum on countback.
Leszno reserve Tobiasz Musielak also made the cut after winning a three-man run-off against Damian Adamczak and Wolverhampton and Rzeszow rider Lukasz Sowka. The trio tallied 10 points, but Musielak and Adamczak snatched the final two places while Sowka missed out.
Defending World Under-21 champion Maciej Janowski and Patryk Dudek have already been seeded into the international quarter finals by Polish coach Marek Cieslak.
