DOUBLING UP?

Russian racer Emil Sayfutdinov hopes to double his World Championship points tally by storming on to the FIM Mitas Czech SGP podium in Prague tonight.
The Bydgoszcz and Vetlanda star is currently 10th in the World Championship with 15 points. He reached the semi-finals in Auckland on March 31, but crashed out on eight points, before missing the last eight cut on seven in Leszno on April 28.
Sayfutdinov is keen to get his SGP season going with a big performance at the Marketa Stadium – the venue where he topped the rostrum on his Grand Prix debut on April 25, 2009.
The rider admits he had a few mechanical issues in the European SGP last time out. But he is confident he’s on top of those now and is ready to score big.
"I have 15 points now and I think tonight I’ll get 20 points more."

He said: “I have 15 points now and I think tonight I’ll get 20 points more.
“Everything is fixed for this one and we’ll be better. I’m happy. After Leszno I had some big problems, but now it’s okay. I can go forward from here.
“I have good gates and I’m off gate No.1 two times. I don’t know how it will work out. We’ll see.”
Sayfutdinov may have magical memories from his 2009 visit to Prague, but he ended up in the city’s hospital a year later after suffering a broken arm while chasing Chris Harris on May 22, 2010.
He notched six at the Marketa last year, but Sayfutdinov is determined to get back to the form he showed on his maiden appearance.
“I won my first Grand Prix here,” he said. “I’ve done well and I’ve done badly at this track, but it has to go better now.
“It’s a very good track, but you have to win the starts. When you lose the starts, it’s a bit of a problem.
“I want to win here again, but it’s the Grand Prix. It’s very hard for everyone.”
