BJERRE: TIME TO BOUNCE BACK

Friday 18th May 2012, 12:00
Peterborough star Kenneth Bjerre is banking on a big meeting at Coventry tonight as he bids to regain his confidence ahead of the FIM Swedish SGP in Gothenburg on May 26.
The 2010 Danish champion has endured a nightmare week. He left the FIM Mitas Czech SGP in Prague with just three points, before failing to score for Czestochowa at Gdansk on Sunday.
He then managed just one paid two for Swedish side Indianerna on Tuesday and his national title chances for 2012 appear to be over after he only bagged four in round one of the Danish Final at Holsted on Wednesday night.
"The good thing is that we’ve sorted out the issues with the bikes we had earlier in the season and the engines are working well. So now it is just about getting my confidence back to where it should be."

Bjerre released a statement last Sunday, admitting he was far from happy with his performances and he has also parted company with mechanic Brian Christiansen, who left the team for family reasons.
The Esbjerg-born man hopes a hefty score for the Panthers at Brandon will help turn his fortunes around.
He told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: “Things just seem to be going against me right now, but you just have to get on with it.
“I didn’t have a good Grand Prix. I had a chain snap when I was leading a race in Sweden and I got excluded in a first corner in the Danish Final. I’m not getting much luck at all.
“The good thing is that we’ve sorted out the issues with the bikes we had earlier in the season and the engines are working well. So now it is just about getting my confidence back to where it should be.
“A few race wins for Panthers tonight will certainly help. I had a pretty decent time at Birmingham last Thursday when I just missed the start in my first race, so hopefully I’ll be able to get another good number of points at Coventry.
“I’ve always enjoyed going there and hopefully we can start the meeting a bit better than we have been doing and have a good night.”
