THREE WEEKS OFF FOR SCOTT

THREE WEEKS OFF FOR SCOTT

Tuesday 29th May 2012, 09:45

Coventry star Scott Nicholls confirmed he is targeting a return in around three weeks from a broken collarbone.

Nicholls crashed heavily in Bees’ 50-40 defeat against Birmingham at Brandon on Monday. His front wheel collapsed after he made contact with SGP star Bjarne Pedersen’s footrest, resulting in the spokes being ripped out at top speed.

The collarbone break was confirmed this afternoon, with Nicholls also suffering some nerve and muscle damage around his neck and shoulder.

He will miss Bees' Elite League Knockout Cup quarter-final ties with Lakeside on Friday and Saturday, but with only one Elite League fixture scheduled for Coventry between now and June 28, Nicholls and the Bees are optimistic he will not miss an extensive part of the season.

The Ipswich-born star is set to seek treatment from local specialist Brian Simpson in a bid to speed up the healing process.

He tweeted: "Been to see Brian Simpson. Broken collarbone & nerve/muscle damage around neck & shoulder. Nothing serious, hoping to be back around 3 weeks."
