HERBIE'S TITLE TEST

Friday 27th July 2012, 16:48
World Championship Greg Hancock faces a stern test of his title credentials when he meets a glut of big rivals in the middle of the FIM Fogo Croatian SGP on Saturday.
Herbie, who leads the standings on 87, locks horns with third-placed Chris Holder, who is just nine points behind him, in heat nine. They are joined by 2010 world champion Tomasz Gollob and double Gorican silver medallist Chris Harris in what should be a sensational race.
The Californian’s following outing in heat 13 could also prove massive in the final title shakedown, as he meets second-placed Crump, who is level on 78 points with Holder. Nicki Pedersen in fourth joins them and 2011 world No.2 Andreas Jonsson also takes to the track.
Hancock opens his night against the in-form Freddie Lindgren and Emil Sayfutdinov, as well as 2011 GP Challenge winner Antonio Lindback, in heat one.
This means the double world champion must face down all of his rivals in the pre-Gorican SGP top eight across three races.
He must also race after every one of the four track grading breaks, which is something every rider is keen to avoid.
Crump, who returns to the track just nine days after breaking his collarbone in Russia, makes his comeback against Harris, Bjarne Pedersen and wild card Jurica Pavlic in heat two.
His title rival Holder resumes his challenge in heat three against Jonsson, Hans Andersen and Peter Ljung. And Gorzow SGP winner Martin Vaculik launches his bid for back-to-back gold medals in race four against Nicki Pedersen, Gollob and Kenneth Bjerre.
