HEROIC HANS BACK ON FIRE

Tuesday 31st July 2012, 22:35
Danish star Hans Andersen exploded back into form in Sweden on Tuesday, racing to a 14 paid 15-point maximum for Indianerna as they defeated Vastervik 54-36 in Kumla.
The Odense-born man accrued eight points in the FIM Fogo Croatian SGP on Saturday night and only missed out on the semi-finals on countback. So he will have been delighted to move on from that disappointment by spearheading a long-overdue, powerful team display from the Indians.
SGP racer Antonio Lindback notched nine paid 11, while Piotr Protasiewicz scored nine paid 10 and Niels-Kristian Iversen was able to take a back seat by his recent standards, adding a straight nine. Former SGP regular Rune Holta chipped in with eight paid 10.
Chris Harris led the visitors on 10 paid 11, while his SGP rival Peter Ljung accumulated eight.
In the top-of-the-table clash, Polish international Janusz Kolodziej racked up 11 paid 12 for Vetlanda as they thrashed title challengers Dackarna 53-37.
Slovakian sensation Martin Vaculik and Danish rider Leon Madsen added 11 apiece, while Jason Crump scored seven paid eight.
World Under-21 Championship finalist Michael Jepsen Jensen was Dackarna’s star man on 10. World No.2 Andreas Jonsson bagged a below-par seven, while Freddie Lindgren struggled to six.
Tai Woffinden picked up five paid six on his debut for the Malilla team, but Australian racer Darcy Ward endured a rare off-night, managing just three paid four.
World champion Greg Hancock tallied 12 paid 13 for Piraterna as they overcame the absence of injured Aussie champion Chris Holder and moved up to second in the table by romping to a 51-38 win away to a woeful Vargarna side.
Polish racer Przemyslaw Pawlicki backed him up on nine paid 10, while Linus Sundstrom collected eight.
Swedish veteran Peter Karlsson led the Wolves on nine paid 10, but it was a turbulent night for triple world champion Nicki Pedersen, who suffered two retirements on his way to six points.
In the night’s other meeting, Polish duo Adrian Miedzinski and Grzegorz Walasek contributed 10 points apiece as Hammarby triumphed 52-38 at home to Valsarna.
Rory Schlein recorded nine paid 11, while Dennis Andersson bagged nine paid 10. Tomasz Gollob overcame a retirement in his opener and a last place to win his final two outings and finish on six.
Robert Kosciecha shone for the Hagfors team on 12, while Swedish champion Daniel Nermark notched nine paid 10.
