VACULIK'S FORTUNE FADED

Gorzow Grand Prix winner Martin Vaculik admits his good luck ran out in the FIM Fogo Croatian SGP in Gorican on Saturday.
The Zarnovica-born man brought plenty of fans with him from Slovakia for his second World Championship appearance as the series first reserve covered for the injured Jaroslaw Hampel again.
But he was unable to follow up his debut triumph in Gorzow’s Edward Jancarz Stadium as he suffered the agony of missing out on the semis on countback, despite scoring eight points.
Vaculik knows he could have had more, but he was left gutted when heat 14 was halted with him firmly in control after Chris Holder’s chain jumped off and the Aussie crashed hard.
The Tarnow and Vetlanda man managed just a third place behind Freddie Lindgren and Jurica Pavlic in the re-run, which proved costly.
"I’m very happy I can be part of the GP. For me, I’m living my dream. I love the tracks, I love the fans, everything."

But Vaculik was pleased to put on another promising performance and admits he is living the dream just to be riding on the SGP stage.
He said: “I missed the semi-final, but I was really happy afterwards. Again I showed some good fight and some good racing.
“I had some very big bad luck. In Gorzow I had good luck, but I had a little bad luck in Gorican.
“I was leading the heat when Chris Holder crashed and I am very happy he is okay, but my second start was not so good because I couldn’t find any more ruts at the start. Eight points is good, though.
“It was another experience and these Grand Prix races are giving me a lot. I’m very happy I can be part of the GP. For me, I’m living my dream. I love the tracks, I love the fans, everything. I’m really enjoying it.
“Since I was a young child, I have been dreaming about the GP. Now I’m in, I’m No.19 and I’m not a normal GP rider, but it feels great. I’ll try my best in the next one I do and I will fight to the end.”
