MADSEN MOVES TO STOCKHOLM

Danish international Leon Madsen has quickly found a new club in the Swedish Elitserien after penning a deal with Hammarby for 2013.

Danish international Leon Madsen has quickly found a new club in the Swedish Elitserien after penning a deal with Hammarby for 2013.

The 24-year-old leads the Stockholm side into action after being released by champions Vetlanda, who couldn’t fit him into their squad under next season’s rules, which require three Swedish riders in every starting line-up.

Only Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen and world No.2 Nicki Pedersen bettered Madsen’s 2.015 average in Sweden. And he will be determined to spearhead Hammarby beyond the play-off quarter final berth they achieved this term.

Elsewhere, Vastervik have added World Under-21 finalist Tobiasz Musielak to their squad for next year.

The Leszno young gun links up with former SGP trio Hans Andersen, Chris Harris and Peter Ljung, as well as the likes of Aussie international Troy Batchelor, Polish champion Tomasz Jedrzejak and Swedish title holder Daniel Nermark.
