HOLTA BACK IN LIONS' DEN

Polish international Rune Holta has agreed a return to Ekstraliga side Czestochowa for 2013.

05 / 12 / 2012, 10:45

Polish international Rune Holta has agreed a return to Ekstraliga side Czestochowa for 2013.

Holta kept the club in the Ekstraliga when he raced for them in 2010 – the season which saw him finish fourth in the SGP series.

He joined Torun for 2011 and Zielona Gora this year, but failed to find his form at either club.

A return to the Arena Czestochowa could boost the Norwegian-born man hopes of a return to Poland’s Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup team, as his adopted country meets Russia, Australia and a qualifier there in Event One on July 13.

Holta, who returns on a low 6.72 average, is yet to pen his contract. Lions boss Pawel Mizgalski told their official website: “At the moment we only have a signed letter of intent with Rune Holta.

"But he will start for Czestochowa next season. That is already a foregone conclusion. Soon, he will probably sign a one-year contract.”
