KIM CALLED UP FOR STOCKHOLM

Kim Nilsson rides at Stockholm’s Friends Arena for the second straight season after being drafted into the Tegera® Scandinavian SGP line-up.

23 / 09 / 2014, 14:32

Swedish international Kim Nilsson rides at Stockholm’s Friends Arena for the second straight season after being drafted into the Tegera® Scandinavian FIM Speedway Grand Prix line-up.

The Rospiggarna and Lakeside racer competes in the No.20 race jacket, replacing Australian rider Darcy Ward, who remains suspended.

Nilsson notched just two points as wild card last term, but returns a year older and wiser and boosted by an impressive summer.

He was drafted into the Swedish national team, making his Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup debut in the Race Off at Bydgoszcz on July 31.

His swashbuckling display earned him four points and he was unlucky not to score more. But he made up for that by finishing an impressive second to Tegera® Scandinavian SGP wild card Tomas H Jonasson (THJ) in the Swedish Championship Final at Nykoping on September 5.

Nilsson and Swedish champ THJ are joined in the starting 16 by full-time SGP stars Freddie Lindgren and Andreas Jonsson, who stormed to victory in the Nordic FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Danish track Vojens on September 13.

FULL TEGERA® SCANDINAVIAN SGP LINE-UP (round 11 of 12): 1 Tai Woffinden, 33 Jaroslaw Hampel, 19 Michael Jepsen Jensen, 45 Greg Hancock, 5 Nicki Pedersen, 55 Matej Zagar, 20 Kim Nilsson, 507 Krzysztof Kasprzak, 66 Fredrik Lindgren, 23 Chris Holder, 100 Andreas Jonsson, 91 Kenneth Bjerre, 84 Martin Smolinski, 37 Chris Harris, 75 Troy Batchelor, 16 (wild card) Tomas H Jonasson, 17 (reserve) Oliver Berntzon, 18 (reserve) Jacob Thorssell.

NOTE: Michael Jepsen Jensen (No.19) replaces the injured Niels-Kristian Iversen. Kim Nilsson (No.20) replaces the suspended Darcy Ward.
