PAWLICKI: I WON'T BE THE FALL GUY

Polish star Piotr Pawlicki is determined not to be the fall guy in next year’s PZM Warsaw SGP.

The Leszno-born racer enjoyed a fantastic FIM Speedway Grand Prix debut season, finishing sixth in the standings after racking up double-figure returns in the six of the last seven rounds.

But Pawlicki endured a night to forget in the Polish capital on May 14, scoring four points as he crashed three times during a painful meeting.

"I don’t have any shivers looking at PGE Narodowy, even after so many falls in the last event. It’s quite the opposite; I am very motivated due to that."

That hasn’t put him off PGE Narodowy, though. And the former World Under-21 champion can’t wait for the chance to bounce back from that night with a big haul of points at the national stadium on May 13, 2017.

He said: “I don’t have any shivers looking at PGE Narodowy, even after so many falls in the last event. It’s quite the opposite; I am very motivated due to that.

“This year was tough through the first five rounds of the Grand Prix. I had to conquer problems with my equipment and with my personal fitness too.

“But now it feels like the forthcoming year is going to be positive. I don’t have any negative thoughts.

“I want to do everything the best I can and bring maximum fun to those fans that come to PGE Narodowy.”
