Danish racer Nicki Pedersen is back in the Swedish Elitserien for 2018 after joining newly-promoted Vastervik.

The Odense-born star spent three years at the Stena Arena from 1999 to 2001 just before he truly launched his FIM Speedway Grand Prix career, winning his first world title in 2003.

He returns with three world championships and a wealth of experience under his belt as he joins forces with the likes of Peter Kildemand and Mikkel Bech.

Pedersen is determined to entertain on his return to Sweden. He told the club’s official website: "I'm really happy to be back at Vastervik. It will be great to see all the fans and amazing people from Vastervik Speedway again.

“The track always gives you good racing and I'm really looking forward to helping the club and my team mates and, most importantly, giving the supporters entertaining and good racing at Stena Arena."

Vastervik and Sweden team manager Morgan Andersson said: "We are very pleased to get Nicki back to Vastervik Speedway as we look at strengthening the top of the team.”

Elsewhere in Sweden, Great Britain shooting star Robert Lambert swaps Masarna for Rospiggarna for next year, while Mikkel Michelsen has penned a fresh contract with champions Smederna.
