British champion Craig Cook is determined to make 2018 a breakthrough year after signing for Rybnik in the Polish First Division.

The FIM Speedway Grand Prix newcomer is determined to crack Poland and hopes to lead Rybnik’s charge back into the Ekstraliga following their relegation at the end of last season.

He told the club’s official website: "It's a big deal for me to race for a club like this. I believe that the 2018 season will be a breakthrough for me both in the Polish league as well as in the individual competitions.

“My winter preparations are carefully planned. I will also appear in Rybnik in March to train on the track. I would like to take the club into the Ekstraliga.”

Cook will be keen to benefit from being at a club where numerous riders have taken huge strides in recent years, with the likes of Freddie Lindgren, Max Fricke and Kacper Woryna all starring there this term.

The Cumbrian is joined in next year’s team by the likes of Woryna, former SGP star Troy Batchelor, Mateusz Szczepaniak and Artur Czaja.
