Leicester star Danny King insists Lions are “moving in the right direction” as he joins Kyle Newman in returning to Beaumont Park for 2018.

The pair join SGP star Martin Vaculik, former World Under-21 Championship runner-up Krystian Pieszczek and two-time British junior champion Josh Bates in a promising side for next year.

Great Britain international King believes they can climb the SGB Premiership table and be in the mix for silverware when the new season gets underway.

“I’m really pleased to be back,” King said. “I enjoyed my time with Leicester last year, and I really enjoyed working with the Bates’s. I feel like the club is moving in the right direction. I’m pleased to be part of it and hopefully I can help make sure it’s a much more successful season next year.

“Martin’s record speaks for itself. He’s an established Grand Prix rider now, and although he hasn’t ridden in the UK before I’m sure it won’t take long for a rider of his quality to settle in.

“Krystian has bags of talent from what I’ve seen, and I think he has made a good decision to come and ride in Britain because it’s the best place to be for a young rider looking to develop.

“It’s exciting to have two talented riders like that on board already, and hopefully they’ll have a big part to play for us.”
