STEVE BACK AT BELLE VUE

GB international Steve Worrall insists he’s ready to take on “larger responsibilities within the team” as he returns to Belle Vue.

12 / 01 / 2018, 09:00

Great Britain international Steve Worrall insists he’s ready to take on “larger responsibilities within the team” as he returns to Belle Vue for 2018.

Worrall starred for his country in last summer’s Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup, scoring six points as the Lions finished fourth in the Final at Leszno, with his gating leaving a host of world-class stars playing catch-up.

He also played a key role in Belle Vue reaching the SGB Premiership play-off semi-finals and is delighted to be back with his local club as he bids to continue his progress.

He said: “It was a no-brainer that Belle Vue was where I wanted to be in the Premiership. It’s my parent club. I love the track and I feel the bulk of my development has come from riding for them.

“I had one of my best seasons in 2017 and I want to continue in that vein of form. I’ve made bigger commitments in Poland this year and Belle Vue sets a great standard for what to expect out there.

“I believe the experience can only be beneficial to my progression. I want to push myself harder and take on the larger responsibilities within the team. I know I’m capable of handling the pressure.”

Worrall will also line up for Scunthorpe in the Championship and Leszno’s feeder club Rawicz in the Polish Second Division.
