The Bergring Arena in Germany makes history when it stages the first ever Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations event – Race Off 1 on Saturday, June 2.

The venue, situated in the German town of Teterow, joined the FIM Speedway Grand Prix calendar in 2016, and now it will host seven of speedway’s top countries as they battle for three places in the Monster Energy SON Finals at Polish track Wroclaw on June 8 and 9.

When the opportunity arose to become a partner for the Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations, we did not hesitate. I am firmly convinced that this event will be a success.

The newly-launched pairs event, which sees each nation track two seniors and one under-21 rider, is the ultimate test of team riding.

And BSI Speedway managing director Torben Olsen is delighted to be bringing such a landmark occasion to Germany.

He said: “It has been fantastic to have Germany back on the SGP calendar for the past two seasons and the response from the fans has been incredible.

“So we’re thrilled to be offering them the chance to experience the first-ever Monster Energy SON meeting.

“With such a central location in Europe, we hope fans from Germany and beyond will come to Teterow to experience team riding at its best.”

Adi Schlaak from the Bergring Arena states: "Stadtwerke Teterow and BSI Speedway have been contractual partners for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Germany for three years. We have enjoyed a close and trusting cooperation from the beginning.

"When the opportunity arose to become a partner for the Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations, we did not hesitate. I am firmly convinced that this event will be a success.”

The competing nations for Race Off 1 and 2, the venue for Race Off 2 and full ticket details for all events, will be announced in due course.
