ZMARZLIK: FEELING GOOD FOR SGP 2018

Bartosz Zmarzlik has “a very good feeling” going into SGP 2018, but insists he’ll live for the moment rather than focus on the title race.

Polish racer Bartosz Zmarzlik says he has “a very good feeling” going into SGP 2018, but insists he’ll live for the moment rather than focus on the World Championship race.

The Gorzow hero has long been tipped as an FIM Speedway Grand Prix title contender and bids to become the first home winner of the BOLL Warsaw SGP this evening.

Despite a strong start to the season in Poland and Sweden, Zmarzlik remains grounded. He is happy with his preparations for the SGP season, but isn’t getting ahead of himself, even if others talk about title challenges.

He said: “All the time I have been working in the workshop. After the winter, things look good with the bike and now I have a very good feeling. I’m ready to race. But for now I’m only focusing on myself and this moment. I’m just focusing on this moment and nothing after.”

Zmarzlik can’t wait to go racing at a packed PGE Narodowy and enjoy the deafening roar created by over 50,000 fans.

He said: “This is a very special feeling for the Polish riders – there is a very big crowd of Polish people. It’s a beautiful stadium and there will be beautiful racing. We will see what happens tonight.

“The track wasn’t bad in practice – no ruts – nothing. It was good material all over and I think it will be a good track for good speedway tonight.”
