EKSTRALIGA | NICKI COMPLETES FALUBAZ COMEBACK

Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen has given Zielona Gora’s PGE Ekstraliga challenge a huge boost by signing for 2019.

Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen has given Zielona Gora’s PGE Ekstraliga challenge a huge boost by signing for 2019.

The Dane teams up with the likes of local favourites Patryk Dudek and Piotr Protasiewicz at Falubaz – just weeks after they pipped his 2018 club Tarnow in the battle to avoid relegation.

Pedersen was the focal point of the Tarnow side as he finished third in the PGE Ekstraliga averages.

But he’s looking forward to racing for Zielona Gora for what will be the first time in 14 years.

Posting on Facebook, he said: “I’m really happy to be back at Falubaz next season. I had three great seasons in Zielona Gora back in 2002, 2004 and 2005.

“I’m really looking forward to join a great team and of course some of the best and most enthusiastic fans in the world.”

Elsewhere, Falubaz’s deadly rivals Gorzow have agreed a fresh contract with former world No.2 Krzysztof Kasprzak. It will be the Leszno-born star’s eighth straight season in blue and yellow.
