FRICKE FLIES TO AUSSIE CROWN

Edinburgh star Max Fricke has been crowned Australian Under-21 champion at Kurri Kurri.

Fricke burst from third to first in the A Final to take the title ahead of Taylor Poole, Justin Sedgmen and B Final winner Alex Davies.

Poole topped the heat scorechart on 13 points, ahead of Sedgmen and Fricke, who both bagged 12.

Swindon racer Nick Morris just missed out on 11 and suffered further disappointment after Davies qualified for the B Final on nine and pipped him to victory.

Cameron Heeps was third in the B Final and Tyson Nelson fourth – the pair qualified on eight.

Local racer Mason Campton missed out on countback with eight points, while Jake Allen, brothers Todd and Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder – younger brother of world champion Chris – all fell short on seven.
